Rusty Rave Monday

Today's post is going to have to be a quickie...I have to get on to so many other things, however, I must show off my fabulous finds for the week!

I don't know how I "luck out" sometimes, but just take a look at this adorable headboard for $5! It will be going in my daughter's room and I will painting it black! She has a black and yellow color scheme along with the shabby roses, so it will be perfect!

I love the little rose details,

and how it has been distressed...

More Goodwill finds...how about this cute urn for $2! It will be ideal in one of my bathrooms.

And this, WOW! I am going to have to look this little gem up to see how much it might be worth. There is a 1951 stamp on the bottom...

...and this cool monogram! This was also $2 because it was their 50% off weekend.

Gotta go...have a fabulous Rusty Rave Monday!

Plum Perfect Friday - Vintage Hook Shelf Completion

Remember my "Awesome Assembly" Vintage Hook Shelf post from way back in July?

Well...I have finally gotten this little beauty totally completed! There were several issues to contend with along the way, such as my drill becoming inoperative, travel and more travel, my son's wedding, etc, so that's why it took so darn long...But, I got the bugs worked out and here's the newest addition to my shelf collection.

I thoroughly love the way mine turned out and will be making a bunch more for gifts, etc. Hobby Lobby has a lot of fabulous knobs to choose from [at very reasonable prices] so I can make them all unique, personalized and inexpensive...next one's for my bathroom remodel!

Who knows, maybe I'll do one up for a giveway!!!! So check back soon!

Cheers,

Now it's your turn to post some of your Plum Perfect Projects!!

I Love Shelves!

I have them all over the house...I probably have too many, but it's one of my fetishes. There can be cute little vingette's to personalize a room, show off collections, or to add color, texture or interest. Once again, some of my favorite things are architectural elements and moulding, so this, somewhat, satisfies my craving for crown or wainscoting in a rental home!

Hallway.

In one of the Bathrooms.

My daughter's bedroom.

My bedroom.

I just refinished this one and really like the way it turned out.

Rusty Rave Monday

Last week I just HAD to make a trip to Hobby Lobby because they were having a 50% off sale on decorative knobs, and I needed some for my daughter's bedroom, and other projects that I am working on. I found the knobs I needed but I also found that this ornamental header was on sale for 50% off, as well! (I had seen it on a previous shopping excursion and had fallen in love with it...another lucky score!)

I didn't know exactly where I would put it, but knew that I would find a place...I love the way it looks over my heritage wall of family photographs and think that it completes the whole grouping perfectly.

I recently found this little cutie when I went to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada with my husband. I have, now, decided to redecorate my master bath in a bit of a french motif, and want to do a lot of black and white.

So, I am also going to make one on my hook shelves that I blogged about in July, and use these knobs that I also picked up at the Hobby Lobby to add a bit of whimsy!

I also bought these knobs because I really liked them, but haven't quite decided what I might do with them yet.

I also want to frame some of these cute frenchy prints that I found over at the Graphics Fairy's blog. Fun, fun, fun!

As usual, it will be a "work in progress" so I'll just keep you updated as I go! Have a fabulous Rusty Rave Monday!

Cheers!

Okay now it's your turn, another Monday has come and I would love it, if you would post your "Rusty Rave Monday" discoveries to my Linky Tools Party! (Note: Since I posted this entry so late in the day, I have extended it until tomorrow at 11:59 p.m. Thanks!)

Rusty Rave Monday

On a whim, I checked out the Habitat for Humanity Restore in our neighborhood on Friday. As soon as I walked in I saw this incredible soup tureen and instantly fell in love! It was marked $10 and, being me, I really didn't want to pay that much, so I walked around the store to "think about it". I was pretty smitten so was going to bite the bullet but, as I was looking, another customer informed me that the store just happened to be having a 50% off sale on dishes and glassware that day...my daughter and I "high-fived", and (woo hoo), I realized there was another score under my belt!

Lookin' very vintage, love it!

Then we came across a coffee table that would be an excellent redo, but it was $50! Well, there was no way, that I was going to pay that much...but then heard the news from an employee, that the entire store's merchandise would be 50% off the following day. Need I say more? We got up early enough to get there before the store opened to get a place in line!

Don't ya love how it is so well used and perfectly distressed...it will look great painted black!

This is a no brainer!

Happy Monday!

Cheers!

Rusty Rave Monday

Happy Birthday to me! Here's more fabulous finds that I unearthed this week to celebrate being a year older, I'm getting up there, but suffice it to say, I have another year until I hit the "big one" (I'm not telling which "big one", but I hope my husband appreciates just how little he spent for my gifts)!

We must have one of the best Goodwill's in the State, in our area of town! I am always finding like new, or actually new items there all the time. This little gem still had the Hallmark tag on it and I just thought it was adorable. This could be very cute in a guest room or a bathroom...lot's of possibilities!

Okay, so, how cool is this? I have been looking at these vintage seltzer bottles and have seen them for $30 or more, and found this one on eBay for a steal ($3 plus shipping)!

I love the nifty little insignia etched into the glass, and it still has a bit of seltzer water left in it after all these years(?).

Do you remember my little vintage plate rack from last week? I love to collect dessert plates and wanted more to add to it. As we were walking into Goodwill, I was telling my "thrifting" companion just that, then walked right up to the dishware shelf, and there they were, 6 of these matching plates, stacked and sitting right there just for me...and only 69 cents each! I couldn't believe my amazing luck. They are one of my favorite colors, they are in perfect condition, and, well, I just absolutely love them.

I am going to get some good use out of these all over the house.

Now, here are the treasures that need a little TLC but have great potential:

A sweet little (real wood!) corner shelf...I am going to have to paint it white and distress it, of course, and it WILL be fabulous!

I love architectural elements so couldn't pass this up. This will definitely need to be painted white, as well, and I have the perfect spot for it.

I'm excited!!! Happy treasure hunting for your special day...

Cheers,
